SABRES RECALL CLAGUE FROM AMERKS

Oct 24, 2022

The Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman Kale Clague from the Rochester Americans, the team announced Sunday.

Clague, 24, signed a one-year deal with the Sabres over the summer. He has three assists in five games with the Amerks so far this season.

He played an NHL career-high 36 games last season for the Los Angeles Kings and Montreal Canadiens, tallying 10 points (2+8) and averaging 16:44. A second-round draft pick by Los Angeles in 2016, he was named to the AHL All-Star Game as a member of Ontario in 2019-20.

The Sabres will wrap up their four-game road trip Tuesday night in Seattle. Faceoff against the Kraken is set for 10 p.m. with pregame coverage on MSG starting at 9:30.

Buffalo is 3-0-0 on the road trip so far, but have had to endure a few injuries to their defensemen. Henri Jokiharju is currently on injured reserve with an upper-body injury and Mattias Samuelsson left last night's contest with a lower-body injury. The team recalled defenseman Lawrence Pilut from Rochester on Friday.
