HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK: CHURCHVILLE-CHILI VS. IRONDEQUOIT
Jan 16, 2023Over the next several weeks, the Rochester Americans will be front and center on the local high school hockey scene as part of a weekly series that will feature the latest news and notes, scores and stats of select Section V games around the Greater Rochester Area.

This week’s High School Game of the Week features the Churchville-Chili Saints (10-2-1) facing off with the Irondequoit Eagles (0-11-0) tonight at 6:30 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
Churchville-Chili enters the contest having won five of its last six games and a 10-2-1 record overall through the first 13 games of the campaign. The Saints, who sit atop the MCPSAC Division 2 standings, already earned a 6-2 victory over Irondequoit this season. Of their six remaining games following tonight, the Saints will play just twice more as the home team and four as the road club.
With five of the top six scorers in all of Division 2, the Saints offense has produced 54 goals while also having five wins and one regulation loss in both home and road games. Parker Franham paces the club in both goals (17) and points (29) while Max McKay has a team-high 18 assists. Tyler Eberhart (10+8), Trey Eberhart (5+11) and Gavin Carr (4+10) all also have reached double digits in points this season.
Tristian Harris (8-2-1) has handled much of the goaltending duties this season as he appeared in 11 games while Liam Magri and Cole Wilson each have appeared in one game each.
Irondequoit comes into the matchup winless this season and have been shut out on three occasions through its first 11 contests.
The Eagles have dressed 19 different skaters this season and five have lit the lamp while eight have earned at least one assist. Sam Crane leads all Irondequoit players with five goals and eight points as Landon Bryan tops the team with four assists.
Irondequoit has used a trio of goaltenders with Joel Reeves (0-7-0) appearing in eight games while Will Napierala (0+2) and Ryan Petzing (0+2) both have appeared in a pair of contests.
Following tonight’s matchup, Irondequoit battles Gates-Chili at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 while Churchville-Chili will head to Lakeshore Ice Arena for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop against Hilton on Friday, Jan. 20.
