Valentine’s Day game, Kids Day and Teddy Bear Toss among popular February theme nights
Feb 7, 2025The Rochester Americans are scheduled for seven home games during a busy month of February, highlighted by the return of several special and popular theme nights.
Friday, Feb. 14 vs. Syracuse: Valentine’s Day, powered by DASH, celebrating Trillium Health Pride Night
Spend your Valentine’s Day at The Blue Cross Arena with the Amerks, who will wear specialty jerseys as part of Trillium Health Pride Night that will be up for auction the week of the game. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive rally towels.
Valentine’s Day festivities begin with a Genesee Pregame Happy Hour for fans 21 and older from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Genesee Brew House Upper Atrium Bar, featuring live music and $3 12-ounce cans of Genesee and Genesee Light.
Tickets for the game can be purchased by visiting www.amerks.com/trilliumhealth with $2 from every ticket purchased donated back to the Trillium Health Foundation.
Sunday, Feb. 16 vs. Laval: Kids Day Game, presented by NY’s 529 College Savings Program
A day of family-friendly fun and festivities highlights the annual Kids Day Game presented by NY’s 529 College Savings Program when the Amerks host the Laval Rocket on Sunday, Feb. 16 at The Blue Cross Arena.
The game will feature a total Kids Takeover, where youth fans will have the opportunity to serve in various game-day roles, such as public address announcer, in-game host, off-ice official, broadcaster and videographer.
All kids’ tickets (ages 3-12, no ticket required for 2 and under) for the game start as low as just $10 with the purchase of an adult ticket. Kids Day tickets can be purchased online by visiting www.amerks.com/kidsday.
The day’s family-friendly festivities will include an interactive ZooMobile from Seneca Park Zoo, balloon animals and a face painting station as well as other activities for kids. The first 5,000 kids in attendance will receive drawstring bags, courtesy of NY 529.
The Amerks longtime mascot, The Moose, will be joined by many of his mascot friends to celebrate his birthday, mingle with fans, and partake in different activities throughout the day.
Wednesday, Feb. 19 vs. Cleveland: Sensory Friendly Night in partnership with Camp Puzzle Peace
The next installment of the Amerks’ sensory-friendly games in partnership with Camp Puzzle Peace is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 when the team hosts the Cleveland Monsters at The Blue Cross Arena.
As part of the ongoing effort to make hockey more inclusive for more fans, these games include lower music levels, no goal horn, no flashing lights, and dimmer lighting throughout the arena bowl. Noisemakers of any kind will not be permitted inside Blue Cross Arena or sold at the team store.
There will also be a sensory-friendly room available, which will include blue light coverings, a white noise machine, LED lightcubes, lava lamps, large weighted sloth lap covering, sensory body sack, bouncing ball with handle, a caterpillar tunnel, various sensory and fidget toys, and sensory bags.
Bags can be picked up and returned to the First Aid Room. Each Sensory Bag includes noise canceling headphones, earplugs, sunglasses, various sensory focus toys and activities, communication cards and more.
Friday, Feb. 21 vs. Belleville, presented by CSEA
Spend your weekend with the Amerks in the first of back-to-back home games, presented by CSEA.
Fans 21 and older will be treated to another Genesee Pregame Happy Hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Genesee Brew House Upper Atrium Bar while the first 5,000 guests will take home LED Fiber Wands, courtesy of ESL Federal Credit Union.
Saturday, Feb. 22 vs. Toronto: Teddy Bear Toss Night, presented by Bob Johnson Auto Group
The Amerks are bringing the ever-popular Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Bob Johnson Auto Group, back to Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, Feb. 22 when they take on the North Division rival Toronto Marlies.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and toss their furry friends onto the ice immediately following the Amerks’ first goal of the night.
The teddy bears will later be donated to the Pirate Toy Fund, the only nonprofit organization in the country that supplies new toys year-round to agencies that bring aid and comfort to thousands of children in need throughout the Greater Rochester region. Since its inception in 1995, the Pirate Toy Fund has distributed over 500,000 toys and continues to actively pursue new avenues to expand its mission.
As part of the partnership with the Pirate Toy Fund, the first 1,000 kids in attendance will receive pirate hats.
Defend the Ice Month, presented by Seneca Park Zoo Society
The Amerks have renewed their partnership with the Seneca Park Zoo to host “Defend the Ice Month”, which began on Saturday, Feb. 1 and is scheduled to run through the end of the month. The month-long campaign will focus on continued efforts to help raise awareness for polar bear and ice conservation primarily in the Arctic regions.
The Amerks will participate in several initiatives throughout Defend the Ice Month, presented by Seneca Park Zoo, including offering a variety of ticket programs to encourage involvement. Fans can receive $1 off a guest admission ticket to the Seneca Park Zoo now through March by displaying their Amerks digital ticket or roster card. Additionally, Amerks fans can receive 15% off their Zoo memberships throughout the month of February when they use code AMERKS25 at checkout.
All Zoo members and employees can take advantage of a special ticket offer for any Amerks home game throughout the month by visiting www.amerks.com/zoodiscount. Tickets are available for up to 25% off and the Amerks will donate $2 from every ticket purchased via the online offer back to Seneca Park Zoo Society and Polar Bears International.
The ZooMobile will be on-site for five of the team’s seven home games throughout the month, beginning on Friday, Feb. 7 against Belleville following the annual All-Star break. Additional dates include Friday, Feb. 14 vs. Syracuse, Sunday, Feb. 16 against Laval, Friday, Feb. 21 against Belleville and Saturday, Feb. 22 vs. Toronto.
For a limited time, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a polar bear inspired teddy bear in the Amerks Team Store. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Seneca Park Zoo while the special edition bears purchased for inclusion in the Teddy Bear Toss game on Feb. 22 will be among those collected and donated to the Pirate Toy Fund.
