AMERKS HOSTING ROC THE RIVERWAY NIGHT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION JANUARY 31

Team to wear Rochester-inspired specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit ADA’s Camp Aspire

Jan 22, 2025

The Rochester Americans are honoring the city they call home as part of ROC the Riverway Night presented by American Diabates Association, supported by Sanofi on Friday, Jan. 31 when they host the Syracuse Crunch at The Blue Cross Arena.

Highlighting this year’s ROC the Riverway Night are the special-edition Rochester-inspired jerseys that will be auctioned off the week of the game to benefit Camp Aspire, a week-long overnight camp that provides invaluable experiences for children living with diabetes.

In partnership with the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, Camp Aspire hosts more than 100 campers aged 8–17, offering a wide range of activities from rock climbing and ziplining to field sports, boating, fishing, swimming, and archery. Campers get to explore new adventures all while learning the critical skills needed to thrive with and manage their diabetes. Since 1949, the ADA has hosted thousands of children living with diabetes and their families across the country, offering a unique blend of adventure, education, mentorship, and fun.

“The support of the community means the world to us. Our goal is to help as many children as possible living with diabetes experience our life-changing ADA camps,” said Jeff Collins, the ADA’s executive director in Upstate New York.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the game-worn jerseys, which feature Rochester’s trademark Flower City logo with crossed hockey sticks, through an online auction on DASH, a sports-focused online auction platform and partner of the Amerks.

The wavy waters found within the stripe that adorns the arms and chest are reminiscent of and pay tribute to the Finger Lakes region of which Western New York is widely known for.
