HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK: WEBSTER SCHROEDER VS. CHURCHVILLE-CHILI

For the next several months the Rochester Americans will be front and center of the local high school hockey scene as part of a weekly series that featured the latest news and notes, scores and stats of select Section V games around the Greater Rochester Area.
This week’s High School Game of the Week features the Webster Schroeder Warriors (10-4-0) hosting the Churchville-Chili Saints (5-10-0) on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. game at Webster Ice Arena. The Warriors are also celebrating their Teacher Appreciation Night.
The Warriors have won their last two games and show an 8-1-1 mark dating back to Dec. 21 while being one of three teams in Section V to reach double figures in wins (10). Webster Schroeder’s nine wins on home ice are most in the section while also allowing the third-fewest goals (38). Except for four games this season, the Warriors have allowed two or fewer goals while scoring five or more tallies in all but four games.
Since the start of the 2020-21 campaign, Webster Schroeder, who claimed last season’s meeting with an 8-3 victory, has four wins against the Saints while Churchville-Chili has three. Over the past seven contests in the head-to-head series, the Warriors have outshot the Saints 217-172 while holding them under 30 shots in each contest. Four of the seven tilts between the two programs have been one-goal decisions.
Jake SanSoucie leads all Warriors this season in both goals (9) and points (19) while being joined by Zach Broccolo (18), Nicholas Scott (18), Anthony Pusateri (15), and Tucker Derks (12) as the five players to have double digits in points. Pusateri (12) has a team-leading 12 assists while Broccolo and Scott each have 11 whereas SanSoucie has 10.
Scott Wagner (4), Connor Scott (4), Nick Johnson (3), Michael Lucania (2), Tyler Lombardo (2), Blake Smith (2), Dom Pusateri (2), and Rick Rinaldi each have two or more goals this season for the Warriors. Matt Dieter, Nico Schouten, Dylan Peeso, Cody Preston and Johnny May have scored one goal apiece.
Webster Schroeder has used the goaltending trio of Cole Hudson (4-2-0), Julian McMahon (4-1-0), and Connor Ambeau (1-0-0) through the first 14 games of the season. Hudson (.914) and McMahon (.904) both have save percentages over .900 while Ambeau has made 61 saves in four games.
Head coach David Broussard leads the Warriors whereas Jason Mordaci serves as an assistant coach. Kyle Dacey is the athletic trainer for Webster Schroeder while Shawn Strege and Gina Colombo are the athletic director and athletic secretary, respectively.
Churchville-Chili enters tonight’s tilt having dropped six of its last eight games since the turn of the New Year. The Saints began the 2024-25 season winning five of their first six contest while holding a 5-10-0 record overall.
Grayson Galliford leads all Saints in both assists (12) and points (18) while ranking third on the team in goals (6). Anthony Indiano (9) is first on the team in assists and second in goals (8). Galliford (18), Ben Kanellis (16), Indiano (13), Ryan Amico (11), and Evan Girolamo (11) all have reached double digits in points for Churchville-Chili.
Brody Gallagher (4), Ryan Hanley (3), Joseph Pellgrino (3), Carter Brady (1), Finnean Storie (1), and Aiden Bushnell (1) all have found the back of the net to complete the scoring list.
Cole Wilson (5-8-0) and Liam Magri (0-2-0) have split the goaltending duties this season with Wilson appearing in 15 contests as opposed to Magri’s five. Caleb Piatek has yet to make his season debut in-between the pipes for the Saints.
Brian Young serves as head coach for the Saints while being joined by assistants Austin Kuntz, James Wisner, and Anthony Depetres. Kelly Toombs and Nate Faas are the managers while Mersadie Dibbell is the athletic trainer.
