The Rochester Americans (8-5-3-0) took a one-goal lead into the final minutes of regulation only to see the back-to-back defending champion Hershey Bears (12-4-2-0) score with eight seconds remaining before prevailing in overtime in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss Friday at The Blue Cross Arena.

Friday’s matchup, the first of a four-game homestand for the Amerks, was the 467th all-time regular-season meeting between the American Hockey League’s two oldest teams.

Despite the overtime defeat, Rochester has earned at least one point in 10 of its last 12 games dating back to Oct. 23. Additionally, the Amerks have collected at least one point in eight of their last 16 games against Hershey overall, going 5-8-3-0 over that span dating back to the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

Defenseman Kale Clague (2+0), who appeared in his 200th AHL game, notched his first-two goal outing since Feb. 19, 2019, while rookie forward Konsta Helenius (0+2) recorded the first multi-point effort of his AHL career. Brett Murray (1+0), Mason Jobst (0+1), Viktor Neuchev (0+1) and Vsevolod Komarov (0+1) all chipped in one point each.

Goaltender Devon Levi (1-0-1) stopped 24 of the 28 shots he faced but suffered the overtime defeat. The second-year netminder has held the opposition to three or fewer goals in all but five of his 28 appearances with Rochester.

The Rochester Americans (8-5-3-0) scored in the final seconds of regulation to avoid a shutout but were unable to generate much else offensively in a 5-1 loss to the intrastate rival Utica Comets (2-10-1-2) Saturday at The Blue Cross Arena.

Despite the loss, Rochester has earned at least one point in 10 of its last 13 games dating back to Oct. 23. Additionally, the Amerks boast a 3-1-0-0 record through the first four games of the season-series with Utica and own a 13-10-1-0 mark at home against the Comets over the past five seasons.

Forward Brendan Warren notched his second goal in his last four games for the Amerks while Josh Dunne and Graham Slaggert added assists on the late third-period tally. Dating back to the 2023-24 campaign, Warren has scored four times in eight games against Utica. Dunne has earned a pair of assists in his last three games while Slaggert has produced four points (1+3) over his last five home contests.

Netminders Felix Sandström (3-3-0) and Michael Houser (4-3-1) made their seventh and 10th appearances of the campaign, respectively, as they split the goaltending duties. Sandström, who drew the start, suffered his first regulation defeat since Oct. 18.

A three-goal first period by the Rochester Americans (8-6-3-0) was not enough to stop the red-hot Cleveland Monsters (13-4-0-1), who overcame a multi-goal deficit before scoring the game’s final three goals to escape with a 5-4 win Wednesday night at Blue Cross Arena.

Despite coming up short for the seventh time in eight games, Rochester has earned at least one point in 10 of its last 14 games dating back to Oct. 23. The loss was the first against Cleveland this season after winning the first three meetings of the season series.

Graham Slaggert and Jack Rathbone (1+1) both added their second multi-point outing of the season while Ryan Johnson (0+2) collected his first two-assist performance of 2024-25 and second of his career. Brendan Warren notched his third goal in his last five games for the Amerks while former Monster Josh Dunne chipped in his fourth and first against his former team. Lukas Rousek, Kale Clague, Viktor Neuchev, and Anton Wahlberg all recorded an assist.

Goaltender Devon Levi (1-1-1) stopped 20 of the 25 shots he faced but suffered the defeat in his third appearance of the campaign. The second-year netminder has held the opposition to three or fewer goals in all but six of his 29 appearances with Rochester.

Isak Rosén factored on all three goals, including scoring twice, and Devon Levi was flawless in stopping all 20 shots he faced to pick up his first professional shutout while leading the Rochester Americans (9-6-3-0) to a 3-0 win over the intrastate rival Syracuse Crunch (8-7-1-2) Friday night at Blue Cross Arena.

With the win, Rochester has earned at least one point in 11 of its last 15 games dating back to Oct. 23. Additionally, the Amerks, who entered the contest showing a 35-11-5-0 record when scoring three or more goals against the Crunch, have blanked Syracuse in each of their last two regular-season meetings dating back to last season.

Forward Isak Rosén (2+1) notched his third multi-goal outing in his last 16 games and second three-point game of the season for the Amerks while Brett Murray (1+0) also notched his sixth tally. Jack Rathbone, Mason Jobst, Kale Clague, Vsevolod Komarov and Konsta Helenius all registered one assist each to complete the scoring.

In his fourth appearance with Rochester this season, Levi (2-1-1) turned aside all 20 shots he faced, which included 13 in the final period to earn the win and shutout. The second-year netminder has held the opposition to three or fewer goals in all but six of his 30 appearances with the Amerks.

The Rochester Americans (10-6-3-0) erased a two-goal deficit before capping a 3-2 victory in the fourth round of the shootout to complete the weekend sweep over the Syracuse Crunch (8-7-1-3) Saturday at Upstate Medical University Arena.

With the win, Rochester has earned at least one point in 12 of its last 16 games dating back to Oct. 23 and closed out the month of November with back-to-back wins over the Crunch. Additionally, the Amerks, who entered the contest showing a 36-11-5-0 record when scoring three or more goals against the Crunch, have defeated Syracuse in each of their last four regular-season meetings dating back to last season.

Forward Isak Rosén scored his third goal of the weekend and team-leading seventh overall while Kale Clague extended his point streak to match a season-best three games as he netted his fourth. Clague has five points (2+3) over his last five outings while Rosén had four (2+2) in the weekend sweep over the Crunch.

Zachary Metsa, Lukas Rousek, Jack Rathbone, and Viktor Neuchev all recorded an assist in the win while Neuchev was the lone scorer in the skills competition.

In his fifth appearance with Rochester this season and second in as many nights, Devon Levi (3-1-1) stopped 13 of the 15 shots he faced while also stopping all four he saw in the shootout to earn his second straight win.

The Rochester Americans (10-6-3-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second period before holding off a late push by the Utica Comets (5-11-1-2) for a 3-2 victory Wednesday night at Blue Cross Arena.

With the win, Rochester has earned at least one point in 13 of its last 17 games dating back to Oct. 23 and has won three consecutive contests. Additionally, the Amerks improved to 4-1-0-0 through the first five meetings with Utica this season and have outscored the Comets 20-11 over that span.

The line trio of Brett Murray, Konsta Helenius, and Riley Fiddler Schultz combined for three goals and three assists as they helped the Amerks to their second straight 3-2 victory. Fiddler-Schultz’s two-point outing was his first of his AHL career while Helenius notched his second of the season. Murray, who began the night with four goals over his last six outings, netted his first even strength goal of the season and seventh overall.

Zachary Metsa and Graham Slaggert both notched an assist on Fiddler-Schutlz’s second-period goal to close out the scoring.

In his sixth appearance with Rochester this season and fourth consecutive, goaltender Devon Levi (4-1-1) made 21 saves to earn his third straight win. The second-year netminder has held the opposition to three or fewer goals in all but six of his 32 appearances with the Amerks.

The Rochester Americans (11-8-3-0) were held to just 19 shots and were unable to generate much offensively as they dropped a 6-0 decision to the Charlotte Checkers (11-4-1-2) in the first game of a season-long five-game road swing Friday at Bojangles Coliseum.

Despite suffering its second shutout of the campaign and seeing its three-game win streak halted, Rochester has earned at least one point in 13 of its last 18 games dating back to Oct. 23. Additionally, the Amerks show a 3-2-0-0 record over their last five meetings against the Checkers in Charlotte, which includes the 2024 Queen City Outdoor Classic. Friday was the first time in the 25 all-time meetings with the Checkers that Rochester has been held off the scoreboard.

Zachary Metsa, who had an assist in back-to-back games entering the contest, Mason Jobst, and Josh Dunne all registered three shots each to top all Amerks while Jack Rathbone and Riley Fiddler-Schutlz each had a pair. Kale Clague also appeared in his 300th pro game, recording one shot.

In his eighth appearance of the season and first since Nov. 23, goaltender Felix Sandström (3-4-1) made 29 saves, but suffered the defeat. Sandström entered Friday with a 5-6-0 record all-time against the Checkers, which included the 4-1-0 mark he posted during the 2023-24 season with Lehigh Valley.
