The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled goaltender Nathan Lieuwen from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis. 
Lieuwen (8/8/91, 6'5", 186 lbs) joins the Sabres for his first career recall since being drafted by Buffalo in the sixth round (167th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. While playing with the Amerks this season, Lieuwen has appeared in 32 games, compiling a 17-11-2 record and registering a .922 SV% and a 2.34 goals-against average. The Abbotsford, BC native signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the organization in May 2012.
