The Rochester Americans players’ wives and girlfriends will be running a special fundraising raffle to benefit the family of Nazareth Hockey Coach George Roll, whose wife has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, during the Amerks game versus the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday, April 20 at The Blue Cross Arena. The efforts are being led by Amerks goaltender David Leggio, who played for Roll for four years at Clarkson University.
Among the items that will be raffled off during Saturday’s game are an autographed Sidney Crosby jersey, an autographed Brian Gionta hockey stick, an autographed David Leggio jersey, jewelry from Lise’s Pieces, an RIT hockey jersey, a signed RIT hockey stick, an assortment of autographed Buffalo Sabres and Amerks memorabilia, as well as Nazareth Hockey apparel. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $10 apiece at a table on the main concourse prior to the game and during the first two periods. The raffle will end at the conclusion of the second intermission. Selling the raffle tickets will be Amerks players’ wives and girlfriends and members of the Nazareth Hockey team.
There will also be several golf packages available in a silent auction. Among the packages are the chance for you and a friend to play in a foursome at Country Club of Buffalo with PGA TOUR golfer Dudley Hart and Leggio; a chance for you and two friends to play at Oak Hill Country Club with member Jim Goff; and packages courtesy of members from Irondequoit Country Club and Ridgemont Country Club.
