Rochester Americans Vice President of Business Operations Rob Kopacz announced today that the Amerks are donating hockey equipment to the Youth For Christ (YFC) Rochester hockey program.

YFC Rochester launched an ice hockey program last weekend for players from the Greater Rochester area ages 6 to 17. The purpose of the program is to create an environment for healthy competition and holistic personal development for kids.

To help support the program, the Amerks have donated 20 jerseys, 15 helmets, 12 sticks, 10 pairs of pants and 10 pairs of gloves. In addition, the Amerks donated 30 floor hockey sticks, four sets of floor hockey goalie equipment (mask, gloves, leg pads, chest protectors) and two floor hockey goals/nets to encourage year-round hockey play for YFC Rochester.
