News | 12/3/2012 12:19:45 PM | ROCHESTER AMERICANS
The Rochester Americans’ “Reading Power Play” continues this week with a pair of visits from two different players over the next three days. The program resumes tonight with a 6:30 p.m. appearance from goaltender David Leggio at the Greece Public Library (2 Vince Tofany Blvd.) and defenseman T.J. Brennan will stop by the Penfield Public Library (1985 Baird Rd.) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. The program is currently in its eighth year and is once again provided exclusively by Wendy’s. Tonight and Wednesday night, however, the duo will showcase their reading prowess, not their on-ice skills. They will be joined by The Moose, as they teach kids about hockey and the importance of reading. The program also rewards kids for reading and selects two grand prize winners that will win dinner, suite tickets and the opportunity to participate in the ceremonial puck drop at an Amerks’ game. The “Reading Power Play” involves players stopping by local libraries, reading to kids and giving a hockey demonstration. Each appearance also features a raffle for Amerk memorabilia and an autograph session by the visiting player and The Moose. The “Reading Power Play” runs from Monday, Nov. 5 to Thursday, Jan 24. A complete reading program schedule will be available at the Amerks Guest Services Booth in the upper atrium lobby on game nights and online at www.amerks.com. For more information on the reading program or to book player or Moose appearances, please contact the Amerks Public Relations department at (585) 454-5335. |
