The Rochester Americans and the Rochester Police Department’s Police Activities League (P.A.L.) are joining forces for an exhibition street hockey game between Amerks Alumni and members of the Rochester Police Department during the inaugural “Amerks Street HockeyFest” on Saturday, Aug. 25 in the VIP parking lot at Frontier Field. While the street hockey tournament for kids ages 7 to 17 begins at 9 a.m., the Amerks Alumni vs. Rochester Police Department exhibition game is scheduled for approximately 2 p.m.
The Amerks Alumni team will be represented by forwards Jody Gage and Chris Taylor, along with defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick. Gage, Taylor and Fitzpatrick are all former Amerks captains.
The Rochester Police Department team will consist of officers who participate in the Police Activities League. In addition to the exhibition game against Amerks Alumni, there will also be “Cops and Kids” street hockey games taking place as members of the RPD are teamed with children from the community.
