The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed defenseman Corey Fienhage to an American Hockey League contract. 

Fienhage, 22, appeared in 20 games with the Amerks last season, recording four assists and 20 penalty minutes.  He also played in 32 games for Gwinnett, where he registered 13 points (5+8) and 28 penalty minutes.  In 2010-11, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Fienhage registered 14 points (4+10) in 70 games with Kamloops of the Western Hockey League (WHL) before making his AHL debut with the Portland Pirates, appearing in four regular season games and six playoff contests.  Fienhage, who also played two seasons at the University of North Dakota, was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (81st overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
