The Rochester Americans announced today the team will hold a Food Drive during each of its two home games this week to benefit Foodlink.  The Amerks host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, then will face the Toronto Marlies at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 at The Blue Cross Arena.
Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items by dropping them off in collection bins in front of The Blue Cross Arena Box Office, located in the lower atrium, prior to each of the next two games.  The items will then be donated to Foodlink.  Any fan that donates two unopened, non-perishable food items will be able to purchase a $10 ticket in the best available seating location for that night’s game.
About Foodlink: Foodlink, the regional food bank, provides food, nutrition, education and resources in Central and Western New York. As a member of Feeding America, Foodlink rescues and redistributes over 12 million pounds of food to 450 human service agencies. While the distribution of food to reduce hunger remains the foundation of Foodlink’s activities, the vision is more holistic: to end hunger, build self-sufficiency, and foster nutritional wellness.
