Rochester Americans Vice President of Business Operations Rob Kopacz announced today that individual game tickets for the Amerks 2011-12 regular season will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. when the team hosts a “Select-A-Seat” event at The Blue Cross Arena.  It was also announced that individual tickets for the Home Opener on Thursday, Oct. 13 versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be available for $11 and $12 to celebrate the start of the 2011-12 season.

Fans are invited to attend a “Select-A-Seat” event at The Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to coincide with the launch of individual game ticket sales.  Those in attendance will have the chance to check out available seats, survey the sightlines, meet with Amerks ticket sales associates to ask any questions they may have and purchase individual tickets or packages.  LuGia’s on Wheels Ice Cream Truck will be stationed outside The Blue Cross Arena to provide complimentary ice cream for Amerks fans from noon to 2 p.m.

In addition to $11 (upper end/balcony seats) and $12 tickets (lower/upper bowl) at the 2011-12 Home Opener, the Oct. 13 game will also feature special events as fans will be introduced to Amerks of the past and present.  Members of the Amerks Alumni are being invited to attend the game and will take part in a red carpet event at The Blue Cross Arena and will be recognized on the ice prior to the game.  More details on the opening night festivities will be announced at a later date.

Aside from the special pricing for the Home Opener, individual game tickets for the 2011-12 season will vary based on day of the week and seating level.  For all weekday games (Tuesday through Thursday), lower bowl tickets can be purchased for $16, upper bowl tickets are $14 and upper end/balcony seats are available for $11.  For all weekend games (Friday through Sunday), lower bowl seats are available for $18, upper bowl seats are $16 and upper end/balcony tickets can be purchased for $12.

Rochester’s 38-game home schedule is highlighted by matchups with traditional rivals and unfamiliar foes.  In addition to a Feb. 22 meeting with the longtime rival Hershey Bears, the Amerks will be hosting two teams for the first time ever, with games against the Texas Stars (Feb. 10) and Oklahoma City Barons (Jan. 19 and Jan. 20).  Other home games of interest include the first of four visits from the defending Calder Cup Champion Binghamton Senators (Nov. 11), a home date with the Albany Devils the Friday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25), a holiday season meeting with the Hamilton Bulldogs (Dec. 30), back-to-back home games with the Abbotsford Heat (Feb. 2 and Feb. 3), a Saturday meeting with the San Antonio Rampage (Feb. 11) and the regular season home finale on Friday, Apr. 13 against the rival Syracuse Crunch.

The Amerks will play the vast majority of their home games on weekends, with 17 Friday home games, seven Saturday home dates and five Sunday home outings.  The team will also host four games on Wednesdays, three on Thursdays and two on Tuesdays.
