AMERKS MOOSE TO ATTEND 'KIDS HELPING KIDS' EVENT SUNDAY

(Rochester, July 22)... The Rochester Americans’ mascot, The Moose, continues his summer tour this weekend when he attends the “Kids Helping Kids” extravaganza at Henrietta’s Southtown Plaza on Sunday, July 25th. The event, hosted by Clear Channel Communications of Rochester, is slated to run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the Amerks’ furry friend will be on hand from 11:00 a.m. to noon.

“Having The Moose at our event will surely be the highpoint of the day,” said Clear Channel Communications Promotions Director Joe Biegas. “We’re thrilled he could come and I’m sure all the kids will be just as excited.”

The day features various activities for kids of all ages including bounce houses, baby crawl races, and an arts and crafts table. Older kids can test their accuracy at the football toss, showcase their strength at the baseball speed pitch or beat the goalie at the lacrosse game station. At 3:00 p.m., those in attendance can listen to live music from some of the area’s local bands. All proceeds raised will benefit the Golisano Children’s Center at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Clear Channel is the radio home of the Rochester Americans. Fans can catch all the action this season on 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, and online at whtk.com. The Rochester Americans first broadcast is set for Sunday, October 10th as the Amerks open their 55th season against the Hershey Bears at The Blue Cross Arena. For tickets call (585) 454-5335 or go to the team’s official website at www.amerks.com.
