Ben  Laing

Ben Laing enters his fifth season in professional hockey and second as the Rochester Americans Equipment Manager for the 2012-13 AHL season. Laing joined his hometown Amerks last season after spending the 2010-11 campaign as equipment manager for the AHL’s Portland Pirates.

Before making the jump to the AHL, the Rochester native spent two seasons as equipment manager in the ECHL with Fresno (2008-09) and Stockton (2009-10). In 2009-10 while with Stockton, Laing was selected by his peers as the ECHL Equipment Manager of the Year.

Prior to his career in professional hockey, Laing spent eight years in the hockey retail industry with Locker Room Sports and served as assistant coach for his alma mater, Monroe (N.Y.) Community College in 2003-04.
